Crafted in Delhi,

Walnut Studio was founded in 2021 by Kavya Sethi out of a 600 sq ft office in Patel Nagar — just a small team, a workshop, and the conviction that beautifully designed furniture shouldn't have to be imported. We outgrew that space faster than we expected. Moving to South Delhi was a turning point: our work found its audience, commissions grew, and the studio took on a life of its own. Now we're opening in MG Road — our biggest chapter yet. The belief hasn't changed: Indian craftsmanship, when paired with thoughtful design, can rival anything in the world.

Today we work with homeowners, architects, and interior designers across India, building custom furniture and complete interiors designed to last a lifetime.

Every joint, every
finish, by hand

We believe furniture should be an heirloom, not a replacement. Our workshop runs on traditional joinery — dovetails, mortise-and-tenon, hand-finishing — combined with modern machinery for precision. No veneers over MDF. No shortcuts you will notice in three years.

Design & Drawings

Shop drawings produced for your approval before a single board is cut.

Timber Selection

Certified mills. Walnut, sheesham, teak, oak, ash, pine — all kiln-dried for stability.

Joinery & Build

Hand-cut dovetails, mortise-and-tenon joints, hand-finishing. 6–10 weeks for most pieces.

Finish & Delivery

Lacquer, matte oil, or hand-rubbed wax — you choose. White-glove installation.

American Black Walnut

Rich chocolate-brown heartwood with dramatic grain. Ages beautifully, develops a patina over decades. Our most-requested timber.

Indian Sheesham

Dense, interlocked grain with natural golden-brown warmth. Sustainably harvested. Excellent for dining and bedroom pieces.

Teak & Oak

High natural oil content makes teak ideal for damp environments. European oak brings a lighter palette with pronounced medullary rays.
